The cycle continues as the sapling grows strong but is not yet a fully mature tree.  The sapling is large enough to begin to play a helpful role in the forest, providing shade and shelter for other creatures.  A maturing disciple has moved from simply taking responsibility for their own faith and begun sharing the responsibility for the life and ministry of the church.  Read Acts 11:25-26 which details Paul coming alongside Barnabas and helping in his ministry.  A maturing disciple is not shaken by adversity, contributes to the needs of the congregation and community, is beginning to discern their unique vocation in God’s Kingdom, and labors to see other people grow in Christ.

Am I taking responsibility for the needs of our community and the world around me?
