discipleship cycle

The discipleship cycle began with Jesus and his relationship with his first disciples, but it didn’t stop there.  When Jesus was done giving everything to his disciples that he had received from his Father, he then commanded his disciples to pass that on, and give it away to others.  As recorded in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus commissioned his disciples to go and make more disciples from every nation on earth.  This new group were to be taught  to obey everything that the first disciples had learned from Jesus.  That cycle comes down to us through the centuries, through the generations of faithful women and faithful men who have received from the Christians who have gone before them and passed on to the Christians who come after them.
